- If you are experiencing trouble try the following before calling
- technical support:
-
- 1. Turn off smartdrive. (Essential if you have 8MB w/2MB smartdrive cache)
- In \AUTOEXEC.BAT
- REM C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.EXE
- 2. Turn off 32bit disk access/drive access. (..)
- From the 386enh Control Panel under Virtual Memory
- 3. Empty your Startup group.
- 4. In the \WINDOWS\WIN.INI file, add semi-colons to the run= and load=
- ;load=c:\demo1\example1.exe;...
- ;run=c:\demo2\example2.exe;...
- 5. Turn off program manager enhancement products such as
- PC Tools For Windows, Norton Desktop For Windows, etc.
- In the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI, make sure you have the line
- shell=progman.exe
- in the [boot] section.
- 6. Acquire the newest version of your Windows video driver for your
- graphics card. TIP: If you are still using the driver
- that came with your card on a disk, you probably do NOT
- have the latest version. Contact your video card manufacturer
- for the latest version.

- 7. Reinstall Quicktime For Windows v2.03. FILE|RUN
- \SETUP.EXE

- Before calling the technical support line, be prepared to provide
- the following information:

- 1. Information from:
- \WINDOWS\WIN.INI
- \WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI
- \WINDOWS\QTW.INI
- \CONFIG.SYS
- \AUTOEXEC.BAT
- 2. Make and model numbers for your:
- Video card
- CD-ROM drive
- Sound card
- 3. Any error messages and exactly what steps are required to reproduce
- the error or problem.
